CRD ADDRESSING PROJECT In 2003, the Capital Regional District(CRD) started a 2-year civic addressing project with the objective of centralizing and standardizing civic addressing (house numbering) . Prior to that time each local jurisdiction provided their own addressing services. As this usually fell to the individual volunteer fire departments over time, there was no standardization of addressing schemes through out the CRD. "A Bylaw to Assign, Regulate and Display Civic Address Numbers in the Juan de Fuca Electoral Area" was approved by the Regional Board on September 29, 2004. Bylaw No. 3201, amendment bylaw No. 3267.
